Waste Management

Waste Management

The requirements of having an effective waste management system in place are growing continuously.

The SAP EH&S Waste Management is supporting you as a generator of wastes by offering full integration with SAP Materials & Warehouse Management, Purchasing, SAP Sales & Delivery,  SAP Finance & Controlling and SAP EH&S Product Safety/Dangerous Goods.

HELASOFT consultants are implementing SAP EH&S Waste Management since more than 15 years. We enable you to manage your waste approvals and to track the quantities. If you have production sites in various countries/regions where are generated wastes, we can support you with our expertise to configure EH&S Waste Management to local regulations and customer specific requirements in multiple languages.

Examples for mandatory disposal documentation already prepared in the SAP system are for the US the “Hazardous Waste Manifest” and for Germany the “Abfallbegleitschein” (waste manifest), German dock receipt. Also, international standards, e.g. the EPA Classification of Hazardous Wastes, the European List of Wastes 2014/955/EU, the European Waste Catalogue 2001/118/EG or the UN “Classification and hazard characterization of wastes” can be implemented in this module. Also, newer directives such as the German “electronic waste disposal document methods” (eANV) can be configured.

Within SAP Waste Management you can analyse waste types and quantities regarding reduction, re-use and recycling potentials, using different reports.

Main standard business processes you can use in SAP Waste Management are:

Waste disposal planning includes:

  • Determination of wastes and waste management business partners (generator, transporter, disposer, authority)
  • Determination of disposal channels
  • Gathering waste approvals and waste permits
  • Determination of waste service provider and contracts

Waste disposal processing, documentation & shipping includes:

  • Notification of waste generation
  • Creation of waste documents, e.g. waste manifests
  • Collection and transport of waste
  • Storage of waste
  • Handling of hazardous wastes
  • Disposition of waste
  • Sales of valuable wastes
  • Tracking of waste documents, depending on legislative requirements

Waste reporting & analysis include:

  • Waste life-cycle analysis
  • Monthly waste balances on waste types and quantities
  • Annual waste balances on quantities and wastes
  • Reports on special topics, e.g. call-off waste approval, waste storage reports, waste cost allocation, waste sales, quantities of recycled wastes
